FACILITIES

Located on Prescott Avenue in Brough and Founded in 1930, originally as the Blackburn Welfare Society, the club was created to benefit the social and recreational needs of employees at the Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Company Blackburn Social & Community Club. Over the decades, it evolved into Blackburn Leisure Community Club, a not-for-profit organisation driven by local volunteers to support sports and social wellbeing throughout Brough and surrounding villages.

For Elloughton Blackburn FC, 'Blackies' as its known to us is much more than just a home ground. It serves as a springboard for sporting excellence and community impact, combining grassroots football with social responsibility in a welcoming environment. It stands as a cornerstone of local life in Brough. 

​

With a blend of outdoor and indoor sports facilities, dedicated social and event spaces, and a strong volunteer-led ethos, the venue fosters health, camaraderie, and community for everyone. The clubhouse also provides an excellent atmosphere for our teams to relax and enjoy a drink and a plate of sausage and chips after a match in a nice family friendly environment. We wouldn't be without it.

Facilities 

Blackburn Leisure provides a wide variety of sports facilities tailored to athletes of all ages and abilities:

• Grass Football Pitches: Full-size and junior grass pitches for league and recreational play, which are expertly maintained by our groundsman.

• Synthetic Turf Pitch: A sand-filled artificial surface available for training and small-sided games Sports Facilities.

• Squash Courts: two glass-backed squash courts have served players across all skill levels in internal leagues and inter-club competitions.

• Lawn Bowls Green: The bowls club hosts league and social play, open daily to visitors and locals.

• Indoor & Social Facilities: The club features a sports bar, snooker tables, darts, line-dancing and Zumba sessions, astronomy club activities, and more.

• Crossfit Brough: A newly opened Gym facility, providing fitness classes covering weightlifting, gymnastics & conditioning in fun environment. See here

• The Venue: A recently refurbished function room accommodating up to 250 guests, ideal for parties, comedy nights, sports dinners, and community events.

• Fully Licensed Bar & Beer Garden: Welcoming the public and ensuring an inclusive, social atmosphere.

• Family & Community Events: The club regularly hosts events like Family Sports Day, DJ nights, karaoke, and seasonal celebrations—including hosting the town’s Coronation celebration with live music, children’s activities, and sporting taster sessions.
